Hello, My name is  Mackenzie Moeller, I am 27 years old, born in Kamloops BC. I am the  youngest daughter of Peter and Paulette Moeller, and also the youngest sibling of Quinn and Montana. After being born in Kamloops, I lived a short two years in Salmon Arm, then moved to the big city of Calgary AB. In 2005 my parents decided city life was no longer for us, we packed up, sold the house and made the big move to Fort St. James B.C. which is technically in the middle of nowhere, but soon became  our new and forever home. Although it wasn’t easy at first making the big move, I will never thank my parents enough for moving us to Fort. Throughout my life I was always engaged in community sports and activities. My passion for soccer, volleyball and snowboarding kept me active and healthy, which led to my passion for teaching and coaching the younger generation in my community. After graduation in 2015, I attended the College of New Caledonia to receive the certification of an Education Support Worker. This allowed my dream of becoming a teacher to begin. My career consisted as an Education Support Worker at David Hoy Elementary for five years.

Working in the school system gave me a greater understanding on how important education is to children. During my five years of being a Support worker, I took time off to travel to the world of Australia, then carried on to South Asia. Although my adventure was cut short, I made the best of the adventure, and realized to NEVER travel the world with who you may think is the love of your life. After returning from traveling, I became very sick and life was rough for a bit. Took me a while to return back to work due to being so ill, but I knew that my students needed their Miss. Moeller back. So as i did, i went back to David hoy Elementary and enjoyed almost everyday, because we all know that working in the school system is never easy.

Some would say I am a crazy cat lady, and I wouldn’t argue with them. During the hard times of Covid-19, I brought home Norriss Jane, my big black chunky monkey, and she healed me in ways I did not know I needed. And because I am that crazy cat lady, Norriss needed a sister so then came home Kahlua, my little fluffers. My two girls are my babies, and I’m forever grateful I have them. They too moved to Prince George with me for the first year. I then had to relocate homes in Prince, and they weren’t allowed to stay, so back to grandma Paulettes they went. Not having my girls with me has been tough, but i know soon they will be back with me.

I always knew deep down I wanted to have my own classroom, and to be more than just a Support Worker, so during the summer months of 2021 I had the opportunity to work in a completely new industry at the Hampton Lumber, which was soon to be our new sawmill that was being built. Thinking I would only be hired for the summer months, until the end of August came and I was offered a full time job with Salem contracting. And boy was this a tough decision to make, but I do not regret the decision I made. I was working 10 hours a day, 10 on and 4 off, and 2 of those days I would go back to David Hoy as an on-call Support worker. Long story short I worked for Salem for a whole year, and that following summer. I was making ridiculously good money, and I knew I would never have the opportunity to make this money anywhere else. I stuck it out, and at the end of August I knew it was time to leave small town Fort St. James, and go back to school, and that is what I did. I saved enough money to go back to school, currently still debt free, and no student loans. I applied at College of New Caledonia once again, and was accepted. Back to school at 25 was not easy, but I started my Teaching journey once again. Completed the first year and half at the college, then transferred up to the UNBC in January. And this is where I thought to myself, I can’t do this. I never wanted to give up so badly in my life, but I knew I just couldn’t.

Two weeks before moving to Prince George, little did i know i had met my new love of life, Mr. Ray Prive, and bless that man and his family. Being away from home and my family wasn’t easy and still is not easy, but Ray and his family took me, and I wouldn’t have been able to do it without them. Bless their sweet souls.

As returning back to school full time, and working as a full time server, I was ready to give up, AGAIN. But did i? Well no cause you’re reading this, and guess what? I was accepted into the Bachelor of Education Program July 25th, 2024.. I finally accomplished the dream I was always chasing, and my next journey was about to begin.

So now as I embark on my new journey to becoming yours truly Miss. Moeller, and hopefully Mrs. Prive one day, this story may be continued…
