Educators implement effective planning, instruction, assessment and reporting practices to create respectful, inclusive environments for students learning and development.
As teachers we have the knowledge and skills to facilitate learning for students, which includes learning experiences that reflect individual contexts and local environments. In EDUC 394 we have been working on lesson planning, and how to create lesson plans that are adaptive and inclusive for all students. Not only have we been working on creating lessons, we have learned that we can do to this in any environment, including Cottonwood Park, the Public Library and online. As Educators in the making, we are learning that we need to understand the importance of collaborative practice, and how we need to recognize and understand all the interconnectedness of all aspects of teaching and learning. How can we balance instructional and assessment strategies, while being organized and also being able to adapt and accommodate learning paces and styles.
As we work independently or and with others, we use the BC Curriculum to help navigate the ideal grade level we are working on. With the help from the Curriculum, we can make sure that we are staying on task, and making sure our students are hitting the Big Ideas, and understanding the Core Competencies.
